My 5500 Black Edition came with only one bearing in the level wind, so I decided to upgrade with this kit.

Upon testing these pawls out in the field, in one of the harshest environments available (sandy, silty waters) these babies came back without a scratch on them! The original part is a good part, but these add even more wear resistance and smoothness to your reel. Now you can choose between the stock line guide pawl or the CERAMIC upgrade pawl! Once installed, we noticed a much more fluid feel to the levelwind system, and it felt like everything was connected together with perfection.
